New Delhi [India], April 22: AF Corse is proud to announce its formidable driver lineup for the 2025 Italian Gran Turismo Championship with a strong lineup, fielding four Ferrari 296 GT3s in the Endurance series and one in the Sprint series.
India's Mahaveer Raghunathan and Italy's Lorenzo Ferrari will share the cockpit of the 296 GT3 number 51, which will be entered in the Pro-Am class. They will take part in all eight events and will be joined by Riccardo Ponzio in the four rounds of the Endurance championship.
Mahaveer is the only Indian representative at the 2025 Italian GT championship this year, a season that is expected to be highly competitive. In 2024 there were 30 cars competing but this year will see 36 cars vrooming across the track. Some teams and drivers from the GT world challenge are taking part, also drivers from FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) making it highly competitive and edgy.
Mahaveer Raghunathan shared, "I'm really excited to join AF Corse for the 2025 Italian GT Championship. It's an honor to drive the Ferrari 296 GT3 alongside such a talented teammate (Lorenzo Ferrari). The Pro-Am class is highly competitive, and I'm looking forward to giving it everything I've got. I can't wait to get started and contribute to a strong season for the team."
Speaking about the steep competition this year, Mahaveer added, "Yes this year the competition is tight with lots of experienced and talented drivers in the grid, the championship this year will be as competitive as it has ever been but I'm well prepared and ready to fight for wins right from the start of the season".
Two crews will enter in the Am class. Simon Mann, Christoph Ulrich and Edoardo Borelli will be in the 296 GT3 number 50, while Jason Ambrose, David McDonald and Francesco Castellacci will share the wheel of car number 83. Finally, the 296 GT3 number 62 will enter in the Pro-Am class and will see Ibrahim Badawy, Leonardo Colavita and David Vidales at the start.
With a blend of seasoned professionals and emerging talent, AF Corse is set to mount a strong challenge in both the Sprint and Endurance formats of the Italian GT series.
